Blake's 7 - Statistics

Having finished reviewing B7 I decided to have a look at some of the stats brought up by my ratings; I'm fully aware of how self-indulgent this is, so feel free to ignore. 


First all 52 episodes' score, plotted on a line graph: -

This fantastic bout of geekery allows me to rate the seasons overall by my own average score: -

That's broadly the result I would have expected before viewing, though I'm surprised at how close Seasons 1 and 4 were. Incidentally (as if this wasn't all incidental enough) the score for the first two seasons with Blake as a regular is an average of 6.11, for the second two without is 5.95 - largely due to the wildly inconsistent nature of new writers once Terry Nation and then Chris Boucher scaled back their contributions, and due to having to bed in new formats twice in successive years; an interesting quirk is that the 6/7 out of 10 episodes all but disappear in the second half of the run. Broadly the first two series are more consistent, offering fewer dizzying highs but nowhere near as many lows; the third and fourth have a more crazy trajectory, serving between some of the best of the show
